Digirig DR-891 is USB digital modes interface kit for Yaesu FT-891 including transceiver cables.
⚠ The cables in this kit are not sold separately because they can not be used with other Digirig Models. DR-891 is the only Digirig model that supports a downlink USB connection (red socket).
⚠ This model of Digirig can be used to interface other transceivers with the functionality equivalent to Digirig Lite. Connect any of the standard Digirig audio/PTT cables into the black socket labeled “audio”. Do not plug anything into DR-891’s colored socket labeled “USB” other than the cable with the red molding included in this kit or cable from the accessory kit.
- Supports complete connectivity of your Yaesu FT-891 (audio, PTT, CAT) over a single USB connection.
- Combines USB hub with passthrough to FT-891’s USB port, audio codec and PTT circuitry.
- Supports PTT via serial CAT control.
- Supports PTT by GPIO3 of CM108 audio codec.
- Supports VOX PTT by the tone or payload on the unused right channel.
- Individual PTT methods can be disabled with the configuration pads on the PCB.
- Works with all major OS flavors: Windows, MacOS and Linux, Android, iOS.
- Audio/PTT (black) TRRS socket is compatible with existing Digirig audio cables.
- Isolation can be easily added using inexpensive USB isolator dongle.

I can’t say enough good things about Digirig in general. Great folks with an incredible product. Until this model, I was using an older model of the Digirig and matching cables for the FT-891 with incredible success. The DR-891 steps up the legacy. I use the infamous “Jankopotamus” in the field, so I am limited to only two USB ports. I also like to use a GPS dongle and the auto grid feature of WSJTX. The DR-891 allows me to free up the needed USB ports. Upgrading from the older model to this one was almost effortless. The serial ports stayed the same. I only had to change my audio settings to the new USB audio selection. I was up and running in a minute or two. The DR-891 cleans up all the cables, and I really love the straight and short cables compared to the coiled cables of previous models. Although I have only put a short time on the DR-891, I can already tell that this is the same easy operation and top of the line quality of all their other products. It has become a much welcome addition to my POTA kit!
